Step By Step, Inc. provides extensive training for all employees. The minimum qualifications in order to be considered for an interview are: 18 years of age or older, high school diploma or G.E.D., a valid driver's license from your state of residence, must be eligible for insurance under Step By Step's insurance carrier's regulations, and able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Prospective applicants should bring, to the scheduled interview office, the names, addresses and telephone numbers of at least three professional references (educational references will be accepted from applicants who recently completed a training program or schooling who do not have three professional references). Applicants should also bring documentation regarding education/training/certifications.
Provisional employment may be offered after successful completion of an interview and receipt of references. Provisional employment means that the applicant must receive medical clearance by Step By Step, Inc.'s occupational provider, must undergo a driver's license check, PA criminal record check and if applicable, an FBI Check and a Child Abuse Check.
All employees start their career at Step By Step, Inc. by attending our Onboarding Training Class. This day-long training is full of basic information to help you succeed in the human services field no matter your experience.

SIGN ON BONUS FOR DIRECT CARE STAFF
This program will go into effect January 1, 2019 and is scheduled to sunset on June 30, 2021.
An applicant who is hired during this time frame for a first time full time non-exempt program service direct careposition who has not been referred by an employee will receive a $500 bonus at the successful completion of the 6 month probationary status and $1,000 bonus at the completion of one year. As noted above, performance evaluations must be completed and received in the Human Resource Department to generate the bonus.
Employees who refer an applicant who is then hired into a first time, full time non-exemptprogram service directcareposition will receive $100 bonus in the first paycheck following the pay period in which the referred applicant is hired.
The referring employee and the newly hired employee will each receive a $250 bonus at the successful completion of the newly hired employees 6 month probationary status. A performance evaluation must be completed and received in the Human Resource Department to generate the bonus.
Once the newly hired employee completes one year of employment, the referring employee and the newly hired employee will each receive a $500 bonus! An annual performance evaluation with a recommendation of continued employment must be completed and received in the Human Resource Department to generate the bonus.
The sign on bonuses represent one time payments made to the employee and referring employee after the successful completion of the employment timeframes identified. The bonus payments represent income to the employee and, as such, are subject to payroll taxes.

An employee is not eligible for either of the bonus installments if:
