With Pablo Hernandez pictured training with Al Arabi today, it looks like he's certain to leave the club for a move to Qatar. The keyboard shortcutsvideopsalm. The fee hasn't yet been disclosed, but given the fact he wants to leave the club and that he only has a year on his contract I think it's likely that our chances of recouping the £5.5 million we paid for him are pretty slim. However, considering we've got a player on our hands who wants to effectively retire I'm sure we'll be pleased to recoup any fee that we can.

Pablo has been given a lot of stick by many supporters, but it was clear to see what a class player he was and what he contributed to the team. Routers picscisco certified network associate. He was often criticized for being injury prone and inconsistent, and whilst that was the case I think that has been massively exaggerated in comparison to other players. He did have his injury problems with us, but he managed to play the same amount of league games last season as Nathan Dyer. Many seem to believe that he had one good game in ten, and whilst he might have been unplayable once in every ten games he certainly played well a lot more regularly than that. After all, the fact he's got the most assists in the league per minutes played showed that whilst he was on the pitch he was effective for us last season and was a good player at this level.

It's a real shame to see a player like Pablo decide to effectively retire by moving to the Qatari League. Like Michu, this is a player who I think would have probably decided to stay had Michael Laudrup stayed but I can't understand his thinking behind his decision. Pablo's performances have improved under Garry Monk in a role that he looks more suited to, and with only one year left on his contract he had the option of staying and trying to provide more consistent performances in the Premier League. However, he's opted to swap all that and any career ambitions he may have had to join Al Arabi in what I'm sure will be great for him financially but will ultimately result in him playing at a standard of football well below his level.

Pablo is still 29 years old, he still has so much to offer and if for whatever reason he wanted to leave us then a move back to La Liga would be understandable but to leave to join Qatar in the prime of his career is a baffling decision. I think that a move like this may well have been influenced by Bayram Tutumlu, an agent he shares with Michael Laudrup. Tutumlu seems more than content to get a share of his clients tax free wages whilst with Pablo and Laudrup effectively retire from football.
